The Blues have signed defenseman Carl Gunnarsson to a three-year, $8.7 million contract extension, according to an ESPN.com report.

The 29-year-old Gunnarsson has two goals, five assists and a plus-6 rating in 62 games this season. The team announced the deal Friday.

Injured forward Marcus Kruger has agreed to a $9.25 million, three-year contract extension with the Blackhawks that runs through the 2018-19 season.

Kruger, 25, had left wrist surgery in December but is expected to return before the start of the playoffs. He will make $3,475,000 in each of the next two years and $2.3 million in the final season.

Kruger signed a one-year deal before this season.
